Heirloom Seed Providence

Yesterday, I wrote a long post preaching the benefits of heirloom seeds. Last night as I was cruising around Facebook reading news from my family and friends, I found that my cousin had posted a note offering some of the seeds she's collected from her own heirloom plants to friends and family.

Of course, I immediately sent her a note saying, "Yes, please!" and my little packet of heirloom herb seeds will soon be on the way. She's even including a few rhubarb seeds that have been in the family since the 1930s.

Now really -- I say "use heirloom seeds" and within twelve hours, a family member says "have free heirloom seeds that have been in our family for almost a century." Surely, it must be Providence. A divine sign that my dream of self-sufficiency is worthwhile, perhaps?

Or maybe I just got lucky.
